Application Requirements

In order to apply for the Direct Trade membership, you need to comply with the following:

• Be a manufacturing company with total control of the production process and decision making.

• Purchase raw materials from the local farmers, implementation fair conditions for all.  

• Supplier roster must be made from at least 25% local farmers, from which 40% must be women.

• Must not have any pending obligations with authorities and regulation agencies.

• Must comply with all work-related norms or policies.

Overall Commitments

• Show evidence that the company provides preferential payment terms to small farmers; both in premium pricing, as well as adequate credit agreements.

• Develop an inclusive supplier program with the farmers in which shared efforts will build to joint decisions and benefits for further growth for both parts.

• Prioritize pricing for the local farmers over other suppliers and offer preferential benefits.

• Report transparency and sustainability reports from the partnered exercise yearly.
